No Limits Pilot Creative Programme

Programme Introduction

The No Limits Pilot Creative Programme offers local teachers of dance, drama or performance hands-on experience of incorporating inclusive practice into the classroom. The programme is conducted in collaboration with Candoco Dance Company, a world-leading, professional inclusive dance organisation based in the UK.

In October 2024, selected teachers join a two-week intensive training course on methodologies for inclusive teaching and performance practices led by members of Candoco Dance Company. Exploring new pedagogical approaches, participants gain the improvisational tools to work with disabled and non-disabled students, and learn how to develop and adapt teaching plans to their specific classroom needs. After the training, teachers are offered hands-on experience working with people with disabilities at a local community centre. During this guided practicum, supported with virtual mentorship from Candoco Dance Company, teachers work with their students to co-create individual performance-based showcases about their experience.  

These showcases are presented to the public as part of the Jockey Club “No Limits” Education and Community Programme: Small Steps, Giant Strides* at Tai Kwun in January and March 2025.
