Small Steps, Giant Strides

Programme Introduction

No Limits 2025 presents the education and community programme “Small Steps, Giant Strides” at Tai Kwun. Join us to celebrate the creativity of people with different abilities through a series of showcases, film screenings and sharing sessions. The programme highlights the transformative power of art through diverse perspectives and unique everyday experiences, helping to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciat ion of the power that inclusivity brings to our communities , and to nurture the future generations of disabled artists.

Pilot Creative Programme: Led by the experienced British professional dance company Candoco Dance Company, this programme provides inclusive teaching training for local instructors with backgrounds in drama and dance. Following this, the instructors will undertake a three-month internship at various local community organisations, designing creative workshops for individuals of differing abilities, bringing the principles of inclusivity into practice.

Community Showcases: 2025 Pilot Creative Programme presents performances created as part of the No Limits practice-based teacher training offered in collaboration with world-leading inclusive dance organisation Candoco Dance Company from the UK.

International Symposium: Focusing on inclusive development in Asia, and approaching it from economic, architectural, artistic, and cultural perspectives, the programme invites several Asian and international inclusive arts practitioners and advocates to explore the development and opportunities for creative inclusivity in Asian cities.

Large-scale community programme – In Touch We Trust: This outdoor performance is co-created by a group of visually impaired senior performers who have participated in the community public performance “The Story of Motion” since 2023, collaborating with local artists, designers, and dancers to explore themes of clothing, texture, dance, and the body.

Hide-and-Seek: Curated by Guangzhou choreographer ErGao (He Qiwo), this year-long community project focuses on the blind community in mainland China and centres around the theme of blind massage. Hide-and-Seek will be presented in a dance theatre, and the collected data and creative process will be documented in a film, which will be screened for free both in-venue and online during No Limits.

Film Screening: A curated selection of internationally acclaimed films and documentaries will be screened for free, exploring issues of inclusivity from various perspectives, and broadening the audience's understanding and imagination of inclusivity.
